The word “kite” has several meanings. First of all, it is a bird of prey. The red kite is a beautiful raptor, a rare bird of passage in Holland, and since it is rare, it is therefore unique. The kite distinguishes itself through its keen eyesight.

Secondly, a kite is also a flying toy. At the end of the thirteenth century, the entrepreneur and explorer Marco Polo brought the kite to Western Europe. In 1752, Benjamin Franklin used his kite experiment to show that lightning is a type of electricity, and that there is such a thing as positive and negative electricity. Therefore, the kite is synonymous with discovery and innovation.
